I am delighted to present the April issue of The Art Section. We touch on three very different
perspectives on art. Anna Leung writes about an extremely popular show at the Hayward gallery in London. It seems tickets
for the show are almost sold out. It makes me realize that viewers love color and light, though as a painter I should find
this to be no surprise. However, I always love seeing a crowd clambering to see art. We have a wonderful work by two
electronic musicians/composers that references Michangelo Antonioni’s 1970 film Zabriskie Point, an important examination
of its time. On the subject of time, Denis Piel, who was a Vogue photographer and is now an artist living outside of Toulouse,
France, has a recent book and a new exhibition that trace the development of his work, both commercial and artistic, over
the course of his career. Ruth MacPherson introduces his work to us. It is always interesting to look at how things change
and overlap: artist looking at artist, critic looking at art, and artists looking at their past selves.
